- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Publications List (a list of publications for further research; useful for finding where information may have been published, but does not provide access to the full text)
- RXList (overviews of specific research information; contains slideshows on various conditions, symptoms, bad habits to avoid. It offers lists of meds, with descriptions, chemical components, FAQs, and side effects. Also has pill identifier, natural supplements, symptom checker)

Open Access Databases
- BioMed Central (free, open access, mostly peer-reveiwed research articles from more than 100 medical, biology, and biotechnology-related journals)
- The Cochrane Library (a collection of six databases that provide different types of independent information, to inform healthcare decision making. Some of the databases provide free full-text articles, while others offer overviews of trials.)
- Directory of Open Access Journals (an online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals.)
- PubMed (free full-text journal articles on biomedical and life sciences from teh U.S. National Institute of Health)
- SpringerOpen Journals (free, open access, mostly peer-reviewed research articles in all areas of science, and many of the liberal arts)
